Gifted Hands Cleaning Services Keeps Communities Healthy with Support From Sacramento Valley SBDC

Gifted Hands Cleaning Services is a Black-Owned business owned by Myesha and Bill Kromah, a husband-and-wife team with over 10 years of experience in industrial cleaning. Taking an environmentally-friendly approach to workplace cleaning, Gifted Hands uses sustainable products to provide office spaces with full-scale janitorial and carpet cleaning services.  

Since launching their business in 2017 to have a more flexible schedule for their growing family, Myesha and Bill have steadily grown their business. In 2023, when they were ready to pursue government contracting, they turned to Sacramento Valley SBDC.  

Working with Sacramento Valley SBDC business advisors over the course of several months, Bill renewed his Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification, wrote a capabilities statement and learned how to manage his business finances with a cost analysis worksheet, two items that are crucial to success in government contracting.  

With this support, and guidance on content creation and marketing strategy, Bill and Myesha successfully secured three contracts from government agencies—for an increase in revenue of 146%—and were able to hire 13 new employees.  

By taking advantage of the resources available to them, the Kromahs have created jobs to support their community, and expanded their mission of using environmentally friendly methods to keep office spaces clean and healthy.
